My Creative Space...Apple & Berry Crumble

Image
Haven't really been creating anything much of late so when I was lucky enough to be given some homegrown apples from a friend I had to create * an apple crumble! You can use any fruit you have on hand really and if you have frozen fruit in the freezer just add it to the mix. This recipe is adapted for my taste, omitting the butter. Apple & Mixed Berry Crumble serves 6 print me   ingredients 1 kg apples 1 1/2 cups mixed berries (or as many as you'd like) sugar vanilla 350g rolled oats   200g brown sugar maple syrup method peel and core apples and cut them into slices, give them a wash and place them in a pot over medium heat for a few minutes, add a splash of vanilla and a few generous tablespoons of sugar depending on how sweet your fruit is and leave on the stove for another few minutes preheat oven to 190C/170C fan, place rolled oats and brown sugar into a bowl, mix until combined, add as much maple syrup as you like so it coats the oat mixture, nee...

Grateful

Image
found at Aidan's favourite op shop I am not a complainer, I do get annoyed at certain things but mostly I am happy to be around to enjoy the little things, things that make me smile, things that I am grateful to have, people I am grateful to be around. I haven't always been like this, maybe it's being around young, innocent, playful minds that inspires me to look at life with a smile. Here's a few of my grateful moments,  I must, MUST start with tea   happy drawings of me   a specially made pic for his sister   additions to the bed family   talented little girls   mixed berry tart op shop magazines   wonderfully generous lady   generous custom made shower cap and a personal visit     wonderful smiles Hope you have a happy, smiley, sunshiney day full of grateful moments of your own. Hugs ♥ p.s can you please let me know if my blog has problems loading for you, may have to adjust the size of my pics..tha...

Breakfast Bars

A quick post today before we head out to Aidan's "favourite op-shop", yep, he has a favourite, definitely a toy thing. Amelie has been loving school...phewww, so I felt like she needed a "well done" kind of treat and a treat from me often involves some making & baking.   Aidan helped make this so it's a good one for kids to be involved in. Breakfast Bars print me   ingredients 1/2 cup wholemeal flour 1 weetbix/vitabrits, broken up 1/4 cup rolled oats 1/4 cup brown sugar 1 tsp baking powder 1 1/4 cups fruit & nut cereal or fruit & nut muesli 1/2 cup milk 1 egg 1 tbsp vegetable or olive oil 1 tbsp honey method preheat oven to 170C and line 20cm tin with baking paper combine all dry ingredients in a bowl mix milk, egg, oil and honey together and pour into dry ingredients, mix until combine pour into prepared tin and bake for 25-30 min or until golden allow to cool and cut into bars * if you find the mixture is too wet, add a lit...

A busy week

Image
Alot has been going on here lately, the tears have finally stopped, the uncertainty about me leaving is still there but finally school is a happy place to be The little man started his first day at kinder without hesitation and only a couple of tears whilst there.   It's only 4 hours over a couple of days a week but it's a new thing for him as well as for me and even though it sounds strange, I think I am really going to miss him   Miss Amelie turned 5 and celebrated in the garden with friends and family with yummy vegetarian pizzas, rose and red velvet cupcakes and chocolate cake singlet   petti   and whilst there is still some sunshine about,  we enjoyed the sun and the water fountain at the Royal Botanic Gardens with lovely friends     skirt t-shirt deer necklace   hat I am a little bit baked out at the moment, but I promise to share the cake recipe because I have been told it was pretty yummy. For now, I am off to e...

My Creative Space...

Image
It's been an emotional morning, tears and a few screams again, a look of horror as I was about to leave. "Mummy don't leave me" It's hard trying to control tears when all you want to do is cuddle her and take her back home. I know she'll be ok, the lovely teacher gave me a call as I was walking back home to tell me she was fine, I know she'll love it, but for now, drop off is the hardest thing. I made her a heart singlet using my old maternity jeans to wear on Sunday for her party I am also baking her a special treat for when she gets home and Aidan picked her a sunflower to make her smile. It's all new to me and I have the little guy going to 3yr old kinder for the first day today. Fingers crossed neither of us cry. For no tears creativeness pop round here . Hope your day has been tear free ♥ edited to add that she puts her heart in her school uniform pocket so she knows I am sort of there with her ✗ ♥

Not just another day

heart made from my old maternity jeans and beautiful button from Sarah , lovely inspiration from Mel It  was busy, it was emotional, it was exciting, it was teary but what it wasn't was an ordinary kind of day. There was alot to prepare   new things to wear gifts and sweet notes morning posing walking through the park so many new faces and making sure she knew that I loved her  The first day of school was met with a few screams and a few tears (no, not from me) but in the end it was all forgotten. How did you go, how did your little person go? Has your week been a happy one so far? Hugs ♥ p.s Thanks Tanya for the sweet message yesterday ✗ ♥
