It's Tuesday and I can't wait.....


......To enjoy a yummy hot chocolate with the littlies after an exhausting shopping expedition..

It's very easy to make, just add about a handful of good chocolate (pieces or bits) to about a cup of milk, heat it up in a saucepan, then pour into your favourite cup (makes it more special).
Pour some whipping cream, about 1/4 of a cup into a bowl with a teaspoon of icing sugar & whisk till it slightly thickens.
Then pour over your hot chocolate & sprinkle on some cocoa powder if you like.

    Oh goodness! It's the dead of summer here, but you have me longing for hot cocoa. And you do it just like I would. No powders here! Ahhh. Well, I'll just have to wait til the weather cools (at least a bit) to indulge.

    That sounds so yummy! Though it's summer here, I can't wait until the weather gets cooler again. I love sipping hot teas and cocoa in fall and winter.

Honey Jumbles

I just realised that I have been using honey and spices in alot of things lately, I guess it's because it's winter and the smells and tastes make you feel warm and sweet. Have been thinking about making Honey Jumbles for a while and saw them over at Liss's the other day and definitely had to try them as they look and believe me they smell soooo good!  My critics advise me they are delicious and very moreish. Honey Jumbles ingredients 90g butter 3/4 cup honey 2 cups plain flour 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda 1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger 1 1/2 teaspoons mixed spice 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 2 tablespoons milk   icing 1 egg white 1 1/2 cups icing sugar, sifted vanilla extract  strawberry paste Method Place butter and honey in a saucepan and slowly bring to the boil over a low heat. As the weather warms up the kids tend to ask for something cold and yummy to enjoy after school. Reading the ingredients labels on ice cream I feel at a loss trying to figure out what all those numbers mean, I mean really, it’s just ice cream, how many ingredients need to be in there after all. I love to try and make everything from scratch so why not ice cream, well I had a go and using an ice cream maker made it really quick and easy.
