Is it cold?

If you live in Victoria I guess this is similar to what you would have seen this morning out your window!
My partner jumped on his bike at 6am whilst we were all warm in bed, to face -1 degrees.
According to The AGE homepage it is a nice 5.4 degrees at 10am.

The girls didn't really seem to mind but they were VERY hungry!
So what is it like for everyone out there today?

    We stayed last night in Melbourne and were the first ones at the park this morning. When everyone else was arriving and complaining we were used to it. Its how we live for the middle months of every year. Gorgeous photos. Love Kate XX

Honey Jumbles

I just realised that I have been using honey and spices in alot of things lately, I guess it's because it's winter and the smells and tastes make you feel warm and sweet. Have been thinking about making Honey Jumbles for a while and saw them over at Liss's the other day and definitely had to try them as they look and believe me they smell soooo good!  My critics advise me they are delicious and very moreish. Honey Jumbles ingredients 90g butter 3/4 cup honey 2 cups plain flour 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda 1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger 1 1/2 teaspoons mixed spice 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 2 tablespoons milk   icing 1 egg white 1 1/2 cups icing sugar, sifted vanilla extract  strawberry paste Method Place butter and honey in a saucepan and slowly bring to the boil over a low heat. Simmer for a few minutes, then allow to cool for about 15 minutes Sift flour, bicarbonate of soda and spices and add to butter mixture, gently stir in milk.  A...

Berrylicious ice cream recipe and a giveaway for you

As the weather warms up the kids tend to ask for something cold and yummy to enjoy after school. Reading the ingredients labels on ice cream I feel at a loss trying to figure out what all those numbers mean, I mean really, it’s just ice cream, how many ingredients need to be in there after all. I love to try and make everything from scratch so why not ice cream, well I had a go and using an ice cream maker made it really quick and easy. Here’s a basic recipe I made using a Cusinart ice cream maker Berrylicious ice cream Makes 1 litre Ingredients     ¾ cup whole milk   ½ cup sugar or honey if you prefer 1½ cups cream 150grams mixed berries, thawed and slightly mashed with a fork Method U sing a mixer or hand whisk, mix milk and sugar in a bowl for a few minutes until sugar has dissolved   Add cream and mix until combined Turn the machine on and pour the mixture into freezer bowl, and let it mix until thickened, about 25 minut...
