Saturday

Saturday is nearly over and it has been a quiet day, well, apart from the re-stumping, jam making and semifreddo making, we have been sipping on ice-tea and enjoying the warm weather.
(both jugs are fabulous thrift store finds, I am a day early)

If you pop by tomorrow I will share with you the blackberry semifreddo recipe that I made, it's deliciously simple to make.

    That iced tea looks deliciously refreshing and I can't wait to see your semifreddo recipe, I've been wanting to make semifredo for awhile but just haven't got around to...yet.

    Simple to make - but that's like me telling people can't sew it's easy to make a patchwork quilt in a day. We don't believe each other. Guess what, husband home, husband with cooking abilities so he can give it a whirl. Love Posie

    I popped over from Sophie's blog and my jaw nearly hit the table when I saw the apple jug. Mum had a jug exactly like that when I was little. How amazing to see one like it after so many years.

Honey Jumbles

I just realised that I have been using honey and spices in alot of things lately, I guess it's because it's winter and the smells and tastes make you feel warm and sweet. Have been thinking about making Honey Jumbles for a while and saw them over at Liss's the other day and definitely had to try them as they look and believe me they smell soooo good!  My critics advise me they are delicious and very moreish. Honey Jumbles ingredients 90g butter 3/4 cup honey 2 cups plain flour 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda 1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger 1 1/2 teaspoons mixed spice 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 2 tablespoons milk   icing 1 egg white 1 1/2 cups icing sugar, sifted vanilla extract  strawberry paste Method Place butter and honey in a saucepan and slowly bring to the boil over a low heat. As the weather warms up the kids tend to ask for something cold and yummy to enjoy after school. Reading the ingredients labels on ice cream I feel at a loss trying to figure out what all those numbers mean, I mean really, it’s just ice cream, how many ingredients need to be in there after all. I love to try and make everything from scratch so why not ice cream, well I had a go and using an ice cream maker made it really quick and easy. Here’s a basic recipe I made using a Cusinart ice cream maker Berrylicious ice cream Makes 1 litre Ingredients     ¾ cup whole milk   ½ cup sugar or honey if you prefer 1½ cups cream 150grams mixed berries, thawed and slightly mashed with a fork Method U sing a mixer or hand whisk, mix milk and sugar in a bowl for a few minutes until sugar has dissolved   Add cream and mix until combined Turn the machine on and pour the mixture into freezer bowl, and let it mix until thickened, about 25 minut...
