Lucky girls

Don't we just love the postman!

I wonder if the postman realised how loved he/she is in the land of blog.

My little girl loved her very beautifully, detailed and delicately handpainted doll that arrived safely all the way from New Zealand. A gorgeous giveaway gift from the wonderful Jennie.

We were both like kids in a lolly shop....really, beautiful doll and beautiful cards aswell.

And can you see the inscription on the back of the doll....isn't Jennie wonderful!

But why should my little one be the only lucky girl, I was also smiling when I received this wonderful quilted journal, made especially for me from Sarah....just because.
I can't believe Sarah made it just for me!!
I think a few treasured recipes will be living in that very soon.

I hope you are having a happy day and smiling at the postman and hope you can pop round and visit these two wonderful girls.

Just for the record . . . all Jennie's rock, are kind & generous, 'tis in the name, well actually it means 'white phantom' & i am NOT stealth!! Honey Jumbles

I just realised that I have been using honey and spices in alot of things lately, I guess it's because it's winter and the smells and tastes make you feel warm and sweet. Have been thinking about making Honey Jumbles for a while and saw them over at Liss's the other day and definitely had to try them as they look and believe me they smell soooo good!  My critics advise me they are delicious and very moreish. Honey Jumbles ingredients 90g butter 3/4 cup honey 2 cups plain flour 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda 1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger 1 1/2 teaspoons mixed spice 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 2 tablespoons milk   icing 1 egg white 1 1/2 cups icing sugar, sifted vanilla extract  strawberry paste Method Place butter and honey in a saucepan and slowly bring to the boil over a low heat. Simmer for a few minutes, then allow to cool for about 15 minutes Sift flour, bicarbonate of soda and spices and add to butter mixture, gently stir in milk.  A...

As the weather warms up the kids tend to ask for something cold and yummy to enjoy after school. Reading the ingredients labels on ice cream I feel at a loss trying to figure out what all those numbers mean, I mean really, it’s just ice cream, how many ingredients need to be in there after all. I love to try and make everything from scratch so why not ice cream, well I had a go and using an ice cream maker made it really quick and easy. Here’s a basic recipe I made using a Cusinart ice cream maker Berrylicious ice cream Makes 1 litre Ingredients     ¾ cup whole milk   ½ cup sugar or honey if you prefer 1½ cups cream 150grams mixed berries, thawed and slightly mashed with a fork Method U sing a mixer or hand whisk, mix milk and sugar in a bowl for a few minutes until sugar has dissolved   Add cream and mix until combined Turn the machine on and pour the mixture into freezer bowl, and let it mix until thickened, about 25 minut...
