Hope you had a great day yesterday and I bet you are probably up to your ears full of chocolate.

As I was visiting a few blogs yesterday in between making a lemon tart to take to my mums, I realised that I didn't buy a single chocolate egg.
It's not that I haven't had a chance, they have been in the shops for what feels like months, I just didn't.

I happily realised that I don't purchase alot of "shop" things as I am quite happy to make them from scratch.

This little bunny was made especially for my little nephew who is allergic to dairy and egg and I can say he LOVED them and will definitely make them again. (thanks Penny)

    We didn't buy eggs either. We had hot cross buns in the freezer in case people popped around - and our eldest and her man did. And dinner was simple fare. A spiced pumpkin and apple soup (not as good as it sounds, but had to be tried) served with a store-bought parmesan and olive loaf, nice cheese and a fruit chutney. Simple.

Honey Jumbles

I just realised that I have been using honey and spices in alot of things lately, I guess it's because it's winter and the smells and tastes make you feel warm and sweet. Have been thinking about making Honey Jumbles for a while and saw them over at Liss's the other day and definitely had to try them as they look and believe me they smell soooo good!  My critics advise me they are delicious and very moreish. Honey Jumbles ingredients 90g butter 3/4 cup honey 2 cups plain flour 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda 1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger 1 1/2 teaspoons mixed spice 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 2 tablespoons milk   icing 1 egg white 1 1/2 cups icing sugar, sifted vanilla extract  strawberry paste Method Place butter and honey in a saucepan and slowly bring to the boil over a low heat. As the weather warms up the kids tend to ask for something cold and yummy to enjoy after school. Reading the ingredients labels on ice cream I feel at a loss trying to figure out what all those numbers mean, I mean really, it’s just ice cream, how many ingredients need to be in there after all. I love to try and make everything from scratch so why not ice cream, well I had a go and using an ice cream maker made it really quick and easy. Here’s a basic recipe I made using a Cusinart ice cream maker Berrylicious ice cream Makes 1 litre Ingredients     ¾ cup whole milk   ½ cup sugar or honey if you prefer 1½ cups cream 150grams mixed berries, thawed and slightly mashed with a fork Method U sing a mixer or hand whisk, mix milk and sugar in a bowl for a few minutes until sugar has dissolved   Add cream and mix until combined Turn the machine on and pour the mixture into freezer bowl, and let it mix until thickened, about 25 minut...
