Doily inspired cupcake wrapper

Granny squares and doilies are so very in at the moment, so I thought I'd dress up a little ol' cupcake with a paper doily.

All I did was take a paper doily, cut it out and attach to a baked cupcake and in the words of these girls, voila, très chic!

Happy day

  15. Hi Cathie!
I wandered over here from Koralee's ... I saw your cupcake in her sidebar and had to see what you were up to!
I used this idea for my daughter's wedding shower cupcakes, but I didn't have the right size doily...
It was a last minute idea and I only had the 6-7" ones left. It looks like you used the 9" ones...

What kind of tape did you use? I found my "regular" scotch tape didn't stick as well...
Your cupcakes look heavenly all dressed up!
    Nice to "meet" you!
    ~Maria
ps. Your blog is very nicely designed!

  21. Yes, they are very much in now. I can remember loving granny squares years ago. When people sort of scoffed at them. And paper doilies too. I use to buy them up at the craft stores and use them for decoupage projects.

  23. Very cute idea. I am throwing my daughter a Cupcake tea party for her birthday in a couple of weeks and have already bought a pile of paper doilies so I might have to copy this idea :)
