My Creative Space...



It's cold and if you live in Victoria you'd know that.

We were talking about wheat yesterday and I knew I had all the right ingredients at home to make a little person wheat bag.
Sure, it's not as flash as some amazing ones, but it's re purposed, apart from the chicken material pocket, and I made it, which makes me just smile looking at it.
Now I hope the chickens don't mind sharing their wheat.

I'm off to visit some amazingness over here and if you have a minute, why don't you pop round to a lovely friend's place and say hello, but don't talk to her about Man vs Wild, someone drove her crazy with it yesterday.

    I love that wheat bag. Such a great idea for the little ones as they get neck and back aches too. My kids are always stealing mine and snuggling up to it under their blankets at night.

    I use a wheat bag made by my mum every night at the moment (it's not as beautiful as your one though) - I think it might be time to make one for my little person too!

    Growing up in a little Victorian farming town where it gets so cold
    the pipes freeze and there's no water first thing, I can really
    appreciate your little bag. What a great idea for a little person.
    I've been wracking my brains for an idea to warm up my eight year old.
    He's a skinny little guy and is always complaining how his bed is too
    cold when he first hops in. A bag like this is just the thing. Thanks

Honey Jumbles

I just realised that I have been using honey and spices in alot of things lately, I guess it's because it's winter and the smells and tastes make you feel warm and sweet. Have been thinking about making Honey Jumbles for a while and saw them over at Liss's the other day and definitely had to try them as they look and believe me they smell soooo good!  My critics advise me they are delicious and very moreish. Honey Jumbles ingredients 90g butter 3/4 cup honey 2 cups plain flour 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda 1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger 1 1/2 teaspoons mixed spice 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 2 tablespoons milk   icing 1 egg white 1 1/2 cups icing sugar, sifted vanilla extract  strawberry paste Method Place butter and honey in a saucepan and slowly bring to the boil over a low heat. Simmer for a few minutes, then allow to cool for about 15 minutes Sift flour, bicarbonate of soda and spices and add to butter mixture, gently stir in milk.  A...

Berrylicious ice cream recipe and a giveaway for you

As the weather warms up the kids tend to ask for something cold and yummy to enjoy after school. Reading the ingredients labels on ice cream I feel at a loss trying to figure out what all those numbers mean, I mean really, it’s just ice cream, how many ingredients need to be in there after all. I love to try and make everything from scratch so why not ice cream, well I had a go and using an ice cream maker made it really quick and easy. Here’s a basic recipe I made using a Cusinart ice cream maker Berrylicious ice cream Makes 1 litre Ingredients     ¾ cup whole milk   ½ cup sugar or honey if you prefer 1½ cups cream 150grams mixed berries, thawed and slightly mashed with a fork Method U sing a mixer or hand whisk, mix milk and sugar in a bowl for a few minutes until sugar has dissolved   Add cream and mix until combined Turn the machine on and pour the mixture into freezer bowl, and let it mix until thickened, about 25 minut...
