My Creative Space...

Today is all about amusing the little people around here while I get some baking done for the Made n Thornbury winter market tomorrow.  

Looking forward to it and hope you can pop by for some handmade goodness and support the wonderful talents of many women. 
Also a BIG thank you to the amazing woman behind this fabulous market, Justine, who is leaving the neighbourhood house at the end of the week. You'll definitely be missed Justine!


So today we are creatively baking, food colour painting, dressing up and of course thanks to a sweet gift from a super sweet lady they look super good whilst doing that!

Hope you are happily creating, I wonder what the beret wearing Ms Kirsty is up to today.

    Oh lovely, I hope tomorrow goes well. I might even see if I can pop past (I'm getting an exit pass from the Beloved tomorrow night!). Those crowns are super. So is Curlypops.

    Still here, reading and catching up with everything. Sigh... Looks like you have been one busy girl, luscious banana bread, the cupcakes, the buntings, the party, quilt, those crowns!!! Love them all! And you know I just need some of those sweet hearts, I am on the lookout!!! Yours are the best though!

    And I was planning on asking you if you would by chance, move your entire family to Minneapolis, Minnesota (home of the Mall of America!) so Libbie and I could adopt you into our family? We want another sister like you and both Lib and I adore you! Is it a possibility??? (HEHEHE... but just wishing!)

Honey Jumbles

I just realised that I have been using honey and spices in alot of things lately, I guess it's because it's winter and the smells and tastes make you feel warm and sweet. Have been thinking about making Honey Jumbles for a while and saw them over at Liss's the other day and definitely had to try them as they look and believe me they smell soooo good!  My critics advise me they are delicious and very moreish. Honey Jumbles ingredients 90g butter 3/4 cup honey 2 cups plain flour 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda 1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger 1 1/2 teaspoons mixed spice 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 2 tablespoons milk   icing 1 egg white 1 1/2 cups icing sugar, sifted vanilla extract  strawberry paste Method Place butter and honey in a saucepan and slowly bring to the boil over a low heat. Simmer for a few minutes, then allow to cool for about 15 minutes Sift flour, bicarbonate of soda and spices and add to butter mixture, gently stir in milk.  A...

Berrylicious ice cream recipe and a giveaway for you

As the weather warms up the kids tend to ask for something cold and yummy to enjoy after school. Reading the ingredients labels on ice cream I feel at a loss trying to figure out what all those numbers mean, I mean really, it’s just ice cream, how many ingredients need to be in there after all. I love to try and make everything from scratch so why not ice cream, well I had a go and using an ice cream maker made it really quick and easy. Here’s a basic recipe I made using a Cusinart ice cream maker Berrylicious ice cream Makes 1 litre Ingredients     ¾ cup whole milk   ½ cup sugar or honey if you prefer 1½ cups cream 150grams mixed berries, thawed and slightly mashed with a fork Method U sing a mixer or hand whisk, mix milk and sugar in a bowl for a few minutes until sugar has dissolved   Add cream and mix until combined Turn the machine on and pour the mixture into freezer bowl, and let it mix until thickened, about 25 minut...
