Today I am grateful for...

sweet blog friends who make me lovely surprises
sweet blog friends who send me lovely books because they know I would love it
beautiful flowers in spring
and just sweet versatile blog friends in general

I am also grateful that you visit and say hello every so often, it does make me smile each and every time.

I hope you have alot to be grateful for, I know someone who is grateful for warm hugs (I do love hugs as well)

    OMG I love that book! I used to work at Kids Central and I used to spend so much time reading Oliver Jeffers books. They are all so fantastic! His stories have such great meaning to them I used to wonder whether children would really understand the messages he was sending through his stories. And the illustrations are magnificent! I can't wait till I have kids and I can buy a stack of his books to read to them.

    Oh yay, what loveliness.

    I am so grateful for your generosity and warmth. I must thank you for your advice re the party as I think I'd forgotten to enjoy it too! :)

    I have posted some pics and hope our cake does your cake topper(s) justice and it isn't too rustic. It was a major hit though some did complain about it being too sweet thanks to the icing. Raspberries to them I say! :)

Honey Jumbles

I just realised that I have been using honey and spices in alot of things lately, I guess it's because it's winter and the smells and tastes make you feel warm and sweet. Have been thinking about making Honey Jumbles for a while and saw them over at Liss's the other day and definitely had to try them as they look and believe me they smell soooo good!  My critics advise me they are delicious and very moreish. Honey Jumbles ingredients 90g butter 3/4 cup honey 2 cups plain flour 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda 1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger 1 1/2 teaspoons mixed spice 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 2 tablespoons milk   icing 1 egg white 1 1/2 cups icing sugar, sifted vanilla extract  strawberry paste Method Place butter and honey in a saucepan and slowly bring to the boil over a low heat. Simmer for a few minutes, then allow to cool for about 15 minutes Sift flour, bicarbonate of soda and spices and add to butter mixture, gently stir in milk.  A...

Berrylicious ice cream recipe and a giveaway for you

As the weather warms up the kids tend to ask for something cold and yummy to enjoy after school. Reading the ingredients labels on ice cream I feel at a loss trying to figure out what all those numbers mean, I mean really, it’s just ice cream, how many ingredients need to be in there after all. I love to try and make everything from scratch so why not ice cream, well I had a go and using an ice cream maker made it really quick and easy. Here’s a basic recipe I made using a Cusinart ice cream maker Berrylicious ice cream Makes 1 litre Ingredients     ¾ cup whole milk   ½ cup sugar or honey if you prefer 1½ cups cream 150grams mixed berries, thawed and slightly mashed with a fork Method U sing a mixer or hand whisk, mix milk and sugar in a bowl for a few minutes until sugar has dissolved   Add cream and mix until combined Turn the machine on and pour the mixture into freezer bowl, and let it mix until thickened, about 25 minut...
