Magical March


Welcome March and welcome Autumn in Australia.

I think March is going to be a magical month, I don't know why but I am wishing it is.

We are well in routine mode at the moment with prep and kinder and enjoying the moments we spend together even more despite the three year old tantrums that I am learning to "tune out" from.
He screams, he cries and then needs a cuddle (don't say I didn't warn you Vic) but I love him each day even more because as I say, he is my favourite boy in the whole wide world.


So I wish you friends a magical month, with laughter, sunshine, love and lots of squishy cuddles

    Tuning out from tantrums? Sounds a lot like my sort of day!!
    Enjoy your autumnal day, we are hoping for warmer days of spring but it is ffffreezing here!!

    I hope the 3 year old tantrums are over soon. We had a MEGA 4 year old one last week, it was awful - but not very common, thank goodness! xox Cat

    Hiya Cathie, long time no chat. I think you're right, March is magic. Especially with all the leaves starting to change. I'm so looking forward to autumn in Melbourne, I've been told it's beautiful! Fantastic leaf pic, love the textures.

Honey Jumbles

I just realised that I have been using honey and spices in alot of things lately, I guess it's because it's winter and the smells and tastes make you feel warm and sweet. Have been thinking about making Honey Jumbles for a while and saw them over at Liss's the other day and definitely had to try them as they look and believe me they smell soooo good!  My critics advise me they are delicious and very moreish. Honey Jumbles ingredients 90g butter 3/4 cup honey 2 cups plain flour 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda 1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger 1 1/2 teaspoons mixed spice 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 2 tablespoons milk   icing 1 egg white 1 1/2 cups icing sugar, sifted vanilla extract  strawberry paste Method Place butter and honey in a saucepan and slowly bring to the boil over a low heat. Simmer for a few minutes, then allow to cool for about 15 minutes Sift flour, bicarbonate of soda and spices and add to butter mixture, gently stir in milk.  A...

Berrylicious ice cream recipe and a giveaway for you

As the weather warms up the kids tend to ask for something cold and yummy to enjoy after school. Reading the ingredients labels on ice cream I feel at a loss trying to figure out what all those numbers mean, I mean really, it’s just ice cream, how many ingredients need to be in there after all. I love to try and make everything from scratch so why not ice cream, well I had a go and using an ice cream maker made it really quick and easy. Here’s a basic recipe I made using a Cusinart ice cream maker Berrylicious ice cream Makes 1 litre Ingredients     ¾ cup whole milk   ½ cup sugar or honey if you prefer 1½ cups cream 150grams mixed berries, thawed and slightly mashed with a fork Method U sing a mixer or hand whisk, mix milk and sugar in a bowl for a few minutes until sugar has dissolved   Add cream and mix until combined Turn the machine on and pour the mixture into freezer bowl, and let it mix until thickened, about 25 minut...
