Backpacks & Cushions


The backpack is complete thanks to a wonderful and very, very easy tutorial over at Nikki's
 
It's for library day at kinder but we are using it everywhere.  

It makes me smile.  I love kid's drawings, they make me happy.
 
He drew it and I made it, what great teamwork.  

I love it and so does he.


Something we also love is the cushion swap loving we received in the mail....AMAZING!!
Thank you Michelle and thank you Vic, you are just awesome.

I love it, especially those teeny tiny ants marching along!

    Love the backpack! A perfect mother-child collaboration. It is such an amazing thing to make with and for our kids.

    What a wonderful cushion too! I love the colors and the ants. Hooray!

    Yes the cushion is stunning also...I was very drawn by the ants when I saw it as it's my hubby's nickname short for Anthony :)

Honey Jumbles

I just realised that I have been using honey and spices in alot of things lately, I guess it's because it's winter and the smells and tastes make you feel warm and sweet. Have been thinking about making Honey Jumbles for a while and saw them over at Liss's the other day and definitely had to try them as they look and believe me they smell soooo good!  My critics advise me they are delicious and very moreish. Honey Jumbles ingredients 90g butter 3/4 cup honey 2 cups plain flour 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda 1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger 1 1/2 teaspoons mixed spice 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 2 tablespoons milk   icing 1 egg white 1 1/2 cups icing sugar, sifted vanilla extract  strawberry paste Method Place butter and honey in a saucepan and slowly bring to the boil over a low heat. Simmer for a few minutes, then allow to cool for about 15 minutes Sift flour, bicarbonate of soda and spices and add to butter mixture, gently stir in milk.  A...

As the weather warms up the kids tend to ask for something cold and yummy to enjoy after school. Reading the ingredients labels on ice cream I feel at a loss trying to figure out what all those numbers mean, I mean really, it’s just ice cream, how many ingredients need to be in there after all. I love to try and make everything from scratch so why not ice cream, well I had a go and using an ice cream maker made it really quick and easy. Here’s a basic recipe I made using a Cusinart ice cream maker Berrylicious ice cream Makes 1 litre Ingredients     ¾ cup whole milk   ½ cup sugar or honey if you prefer 1½ cups cream 150grams mixed berries, thawed and slightly mashed with a fork Method U sing a mixer or hand whisk, mix milk and sugar in a bowl for a few minutes until sugar has dissolved   Add cream and mix until combined Turn the machine on and pour the mixture into freezer bowl, and let it mix until thickened, about 25 minut...
