Phewww...Hottie Challenge done


Are you one of those people that leave everything until the very last minute then get that adrenalin rush of having to finish it off before heading off to school for pick up.



Luckily I am not one of those people, all my projects are thought  out weeks and weeks before they are due


unfortunately though getting them from inside my head to the actual production stage is a totally different matter...

Hottie Challenge all done and personally delivered to the loveliest hottie of them all.

    Love it! And making the top bit straight - if I'd thought of that, I would have used bias binding there. Ah! So many ideas! I too left it to the last minute. You're a lucky duck to deliver it personally! (Am thinking I should have just done an exclamation mark cover!)

    It's so lovely Cathie, well done & on time too. I'm much better now than last minute pressure, maybe it's age, definitely now all the children are in school. I can multitask with only myself to blame, tee hee. Such a great cause, i posted my hot water bottle on my blog today too, love Posie

    I am one of those people who leave things to the last minute and I was mortified to realise I had missed the deadline for the afternoon tea. I am so sorry Cathie. I had such great intentions too.

    oh Cathie your Hottie is soooo gorgeously cute what a fab idea!!! I am EXACTLY the same with EVERY project I do, I often get an idea almost straight away of what I want to do but then it's almost like I need to torture myself in some weird way because I just can't get myself to actually START it until I absolutely HAVE to, then it's a mad rush, My Hottie and Isobel's well I had to Express Post them this week to get it to Cam JUST on time

Honey Jumbles

I just realised that I have been using honey and spices in alot of things lately, I guess it's because it's winter and the smells and tastes make you feel warm and sweet. Have been thinking about making Honey Jumbles for a while and saw them over at Liss's the other day and definitely had to try them as they look and believe me they smell soooo good!  My critics advise me they are delicious and very moreish. Honey Jumbles ingredients 90g butter 3/4 cup honey 2 cups plain flour 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda 1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger 1 1/2 teaspoons mixed spice 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 2 tablespoons milk   icing 1 egg white 1 1/2 cups icing sugar, sifted vanilla extract  strawberry paste Method Place butter and honey in a saucepan and slowly bring to the boil over a low heat. Simmer for a few minutes, then allow to cool for about 15 minutes Sift flour, bicarbonate of soda and spices and add to butter mixture, gently stir in milk.  A...

Berrylicious ice cream recipe and a giveaway for you

As the weather warms up the kids tend to ask for something cold and yummy to enjoy after school. Reading the ingredients labels on ice cream I feel at a loss trying to figure out what all those numbers mean, I mean really, it’s just ice cream, how many ingredients need to be in there after all. I love to try and make everything from scratch so why not ice cream, well I had a go and using an ice cream maker made it really quick and easy. Here’s a basic recipe I made using a Cusinart ice cream maker Berrylicious ice cream Makes 1 litre Ingredients     ¾ cup whole milk   ½ cup sugar or honey if you prefer 1½ cups cream 150grams mixed berries, thawed and slightly mashed with a fork Method U sing a mixer or hand whisk, mix milk and sugar in a bowl for a few minutes until sugar has dissolved   Add cream and mix until combined Turn the machine on and pour the mixture into freezer bowl, and let it mix until thickened, about 25 minut...
