I support daffodil day every year, it's so important. I love your bursts of yellow, such a sunshiny, pretty colour. Hope all is well with you Cathie, much love x
What a gorgeous collection of photos Cathie, these certainly made me smile... yellow has that effect on me I find :o) My hubby actually picked up a daffodil pin for me, which was rather sweet as he knows I usually buy one, but was unable to today. It is such a fantastic cause xo
We have daffodil day here too in the Spring....oh you are so lucky to have all the beautiful yellow around you today...enjoy and for such a great cause....love to you. Are baking up something yellow?
I'm with you, our children wore yellow to school & took their donations. I couldn't find a Cancer Council daffodil person to buy daffodils from so put an extra $5 in the school's collection. I was a bit annoyed, the $6 bunches of daffodiles at the supermarket ONLY $1 went to the Cancer Council, doesn't that suck!! Love Posie
Thanks for brightening my day with your lovely yellow pictures. Daffodil day means alot to me also, I lost my father when I was 18. Healing hugs right back to you Cathie xxSam
I have been extremely lucky with blog giveaways lately and have won an extremely beautiful pack from the gorgeous and lovely Liesa at Handmade Heaven and a very supercute Bugga Bugs giveaway hosted by the very, very talented Alicia at The Red Deer , so a very BIG thank you ladies! If you haven't visited them yet, why don't you pop by for a visit and enjoy their fabulous blogs! So to give back to the good Karma giveaway fund, I visited a cake decorating store for some inspiration...and I came out with a box full of cupcake papers, that's about 600 or more. I think I was in that shop for a good 45 minutes, I am not joking, it's like a kid in a candy store...or a fabric store for my lovely sew crafty blog friends :) Now all you have to do is leave a comment, nothing much, just a hello or share a joke. I'll leave it open till midnight Saturday the 31st of October and also the end of Blogtoberfest and draw a winner from a hat or bowl or bag and announce it on Sunday...
I just realised that I have been using honey and spices in alot of things lately, I guess it's because it's winter and the smells and tastes make you feel warm and sweet. Have been thinking about making Honey Jumbles for a while and saw them over at Liss's the other day and definitely had to try them as they look and believe me they smell soooo good! My critics advise me they are delicious and very moreish. Honey Jumbles ingredients 90g butter 3/4 cup honey 2 cups plain flour 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda 1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger 1 1/2 teaspoons mixed spice 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 2 tablespoons milk icing 1 egg white 1 1/2 cups icing sugar, sifted vanilla extract strawberry paste Method Place butter and honey in a saucepan and slowly bring to the boil over a low heat. Simmer for a few minutes, then allow to cool for about 15 minutes Sift flour, bicarbonate of soda and spices and add to butter mixture, gently stir in milk. A...
As the weather warms up the kids tend to ask for something cold and yummy to enjoy after school. Reading the ingredients labels on ice cream I feel at a loss trying to figure out what all those numbers mean, I mean really, it’s just ice cream, how many ingredients need to be in there after all. I love to try and make everything from scratch so why not ice cream, well I had a go and using an ice cream maker made it really quick and easy. Here’s a basic recipe I made using a Cusinart ice cream maker Berrylicious ice cream Makes 1 litre Ingredients ¾ cup whole milk ½ cup sugar or honey if you prefer 1½ cups cream 150grams mixed berries, thawed and slightly mashed with a fork Method U sing a mixer or hand whisk, mix milk and sugar in a bowl for a few minutes until sugar has dissolved Add cream and mix until combined Turn the machine on and pour the mixture into freezer bowl, and let it mix until thickened, about 25 minut...
