    Hi Cathie,
    So many sweet moments there to cherish Cathie, sounds like you had a beautiful day..it was so sweet to wake up this morning not only to the quiet, but I giggled when I heard a few whispers from 6yo trying to keep my 2yo quiet so mummy could have a sleep in, of course, I just couldn't wait for those first Mother's Day hugs, so I was glad when they came in and we all shared breaky in bed together.

    I was working on the Mothers Day stall at school this week, but the little one still managed to secretly buy something for me, which she was so excited about! (a stone and a Toblerone)
    And instead of making me a card this year, the big girl made a power point telling me how she felt about me. Twas brilliant!

    Beautiful moments. I packed up a huge bag of excess baby gear to donate, thinking about the one we don't have, then went out to play football with the ones I do have.

    Beautiful post Cathie. My little girl wrapped 45 'random' items from around the house each labelled painstakingly and sat with me in PJs opening them all, explaining their significance despite the randomness. Then we made a high tea for the afternoon with friends - a day to cherish - especially when it's back to rushing out the door and in and out of things this evening.
    Hope you are well, I've not been around for a while, taking time out with migraine interference.

Honey Jumbles

I just realised that I have been using honey and spices in alot of things lately, I guess it's because it's winter and the smells and tastes make you feel warm and sweet. Have been thinking about making Honey Jumbles for a while and saw them over at Liss's the other day and definitely had to try them as they look and believe me they smell soooo good!  My critics advise me they are delicious and very moreish. Honey Jumbles ingredients 90g butter 3/4 cup honey 2 cups plain flour 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda 1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger 1 1/2 teaspoons mixed spice 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 2 tablespoons milk   icing 1 egg white 1 1/2 cups icing sugar, sifted vanilla extract  strawberry paste Method Place butter and honey in a saucepan and slowly bring to the boil over a low heat. Simmer for a few minutes, then allow to cool for about 15 minutes Sift flour, bicarbonate of soda and spices and add to butter mixture, gently stir in milk.  A...

Berrylicious ice cream recipe and a giveaway for you

As the weather warms up the kids tend to ask for something cold and yummy to enjoy after school. Reading the ingredients labels on ice cream I feel at a loss trying to figure out what all those numbers mean, I mean really, it’s just ice cream, how many ingredients need to be in there after all. I love to try and make everything from scratch so why not ice cream, well I had a go and using an ice cream maker made it really quick and easy. Here’s a basic recipe I made using a Cusinart ice cream maker Berrylicious ice cream Makes 1 litre Ingredients     ¾ cup whole milk   ½ cup sugar or honey if you prefer 1½ cups cream 150grams mixed berries, thawed and slightly mashed with a fork Method U sing a mixer or hand whisk, mix milk and sugar in a bowl for a few minutes until sugar has dissolved   Add cream and mix until combined Turn the machine on and pour the mixture into freezer bowl, and let it mix until thickened, about 25 minut...
